The Company
Frequently
Asked Questions
1. How long has
American Diabetic Supply, Inc. been in business?
Our
company has been in business since 1995. Beginning with only
a handful of customers, we now serve thousands of satisfied customers
all over the United States. We are fortunate to enjoy numerous
long term and personal relationships with many of our customers.
We are most proud of the fact that our primary source of new
customers is the referral of our current customers.
2. Will American
Diabetic Supply save me time and money?
Yes!
Our customer service representatives can help you sign up over
the phone in just a few minutes. We then ship your supplies directly
to you and file claims with your insurance company on your behalf.
This means no more inconvenient trips to the pharmacy. You pay
nothing up front because we wait for reimbursement, not you.
Many of our patients with Medicare Supplemental insurance pay
nothing at all. Patients without Medicare Supplemental insurance
are responsible for their co-insurance.
3. What shipping
company do you use and who pays the cost of shipping?
All
shipments are sent PRIORITY MAIL through the US Postal Service
and all shipping and handling costs are covered by American Diabetic
Supply. We stand behind all products that we ship. American Diabetic
Supply will gladly replace any supplies that are lost or damaged
in transit. If you are not completely satisfied, simply contact
our customer service representatives and we will correct the
problem.
4. Do I have
to call to reorder?
For those with private insurance, we will automatically send you a new shipment each month unless you specify otherwise. For those with Medicare, we send supplies every three months. Medicare requires prior authorization and for your supplies to be nearly exhausted before any new supplies are shipped. If you check the re-order box on the postage paid Proof of Delivery postcard that comes with each shipment and mail it back to us, we will call you just before your shipment is scheduled to make sure that you still require that shipment. Or, you may wish to just call our toll free phone number and order your supplies as they are needed
5. Does American
Diabetic Supply require a form from my doctor?
In
order for your insurance to pay benefits, we must have a physician's
order on file. Our customer service representatives will make
every effort to obtain the form from your doctor. Only if your
physician does not respond to our requests would we then contact
you to ask for your assistance.
6. Does American
Diabetic Supply accept Medicaid?
We
do accept Medicaid as a supplement to Medicare. However, we are
unable to accept Medicaid as primary insurance.
7. Does American
Diabetic Supply accept HMO's?
We
are not currently participating in any HMO networks and are unable
to send supplies to anyone with an HMO.
8. Am I responsible
for my deductible?
All
customers are responsible for their annual deductible. All Medicare
recipients have a $155.00 annual deductible that must be met before
Medicare will pay any benefits. If any portion of your deductible
is applied to supplies that American Diabetic Supply sends to
you, you are responsible for payment of that amount. If this
should happen, we will notify you in writing and invoice you
for the amount after Medicare has charged the deductible to American
Diabetic Supply. We will never require up front payment of any
deductible amount.
